I've been a designer for 30 years, but for the first 15 of those years, I was slowly suffocating, designing from a cubicle in a corporate office.
Then, one day, 15 years ago, I made the leap to freedom: entrepreneurship.
Even though it was terrifying to leave my stable income behind, I wanted more. I wanted to reach my full potential as a person and professional.
I wanted to be able to earn an income that I knew my skills were worth. I wanted to pick the clients I worked with. I wanted to have the flexibility to work when and where I choose.
The only problem? It turned out that starting a design business required a lot more than my design skills.
Today, I have clients in my business with lifetime values over $1M each. But, it took years of painful trial and error to build my business and finally get to this place of freedom, where my design business supports me and my family and allows me the opportunity to invest in those things that matter most.
